Company History
Shaws Training was founded by Darren Shaw, a former HGV Driver and Driving Instructor in Her Majesty's Armed Forces.

In 2002, after many years in the haulage industry, Darren decided that the time was right to pass on some of the knowledge and experience that he had acquired and now, several years later, Shaws Training Ltd has become one of the regions' leading LGV and PCV training schools, serving Blue Chip Companies and Private Clients alike.

Vehicles and Instructors
Shaws Training currently operate an impressive fleet of high quality trucks covering all classes of LGV training along with a modern, full sized coach for PCV Candidates.
All our vehicles are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards, leaving you free to concentrate on the job in hand.
When we select vehicles as training units, we make sure that they, not only, meet all current regulations regarding training vehicles but are as near to the type of vehicle that you will encounter after you have passed your Test.

We have three full time Instructors plus a further two that we can call on at peak periods.
All Instructors are trained to DSA standard and came to us highly recommended.

Pass Rates?
We are frequently asked about our pass rates. You'll be surprised to hear that, at Shaws, we don't believe in analysing pass rates or trying to hit targets.
Every Candidate that comes to us is treated as an individual and, as such, will receive the highest standard of training and commitment from us.
Everyone we meet is different and they can be assured that they will never be compared to other Trainees, past or present.

Advice and Support
When you enrol on a course with Shaws you not only learn to drive, you'll receive help and guidance in areas such as Health and Safety, Tachographs and Drivers Hours.

We have also established links with local Driver Agencies and can advise you on the best way to go after you have passed your Test. Please note that Shaws cannot guarantee placements with any Agencies, although we do feel we have the knowledge and experience to point you in the right direction. }
